The Ramallo family has been in the graphics arts industry for over 6 decades. Originally from Cuba, they moved to New York in 1960. After working for 5 years in the "The Daily News" and the "Hudson Dispatch", they moved to Puerto Rico in 1965. On February 1966, Ramallo Bros Printing, Inc was established in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ramallo's history has been characterized by leading Puerto Rico's graphic arts industry through the most advanced technology available.
For instance, in 1975 Ramallo started using its new high-speed Zephyr 300 6 units web press for high volume printing. In 1985, new DS Screen 608 color scanners were acquired to produce complete color separations. A new Scitex Electronic Pre-Press for digital assembly and manipulation of images was added in 1989.
In 1993, Ramallo started using a new Digital Color Proofing. A new Silicone Graphics Open Architecture System for manipulation of images, as well as a new Creo Platesetter, with computer-to-plate technology, were both added in 1995.
In 1996, Ramallo purchased a new Electronic High Speed Overwrap Poly-Bag System for joint direct mailing of multiple pieces.
In 1997, a new Hell S3900 Digital Laser Scanner was added, which allowed a daily production capacity to 600 color separations. In 1999, Ramallo installed a new Harris M-1000BE press capable of producing full-color signatures at 140,000 impressions per hour.
Ramallo´s new plant is located in a 365,000 square feet Building. This world-class manufacturing environment features the most advanced, avant-garde technology in the graphic arts industry.
